@ 0 687 511 25 Ray Tracing Very realistic graphics can be produced through "Ray Tracing". An object is created in the computer's memory. Colour and surface texture information is fed in with the eyepoint and light source(s). Light rays are generated from the eyepoint and traced until they either hit the light source, go to infinity or are absorbed. Each time the object is encountered the light ray may be reflected, refracted or fully or partially absorbed. This is done for all possible rays emanating from the eye and the results plotted on the screen. Ray traces are very heavy on computer time! @ 0 240 32 25 Graphics courtesy C. Y.
