APM Demonstration Programs

Most of these demonstration programs use the level 1 framestore graphics (L1).
In order to use them enter the command 'SETUP ADEMO'   (or logon to ADEMO:)

The command MENU will repeat this list.                           Graphics Req.

!<CLOCK      Clock with moving hands                                                (L1 Graphics)
The command 'CLOCK' puts up an analogue clock face with moving hands. The 
program reads the correct time from the filestore.   The user is prompted for
an alarm time.   This is optional.

Hit RETURN to release each page

!<GAS        Rotating APM logo                                           L1
The command 'GAS' displays the APM 'logo' on a rotating 'gas-station' sign.
No interaction required.

!<HANOI      Tower of Hanoi                                              L1

The command  '@HA'  displays a 6-disc tower of hanoi sequence on the graphics
terminal.  No interaction required.

If desired, the command 'GRAPHAN' can be called instead. This prompts for the
number of discs required then displays the sequence as before.

!<PERSIAN    'Persian Rug' pattern                                       L1
The command  PERSIAN  displays a rotating pattern which builds into a persian
rug design of concentric squares.

The command  '@RU'  displays a Rubik's cube and runs through a few moves.
No interaction required.

The program puts up the ?Microsoc 'coat of arms'.

The program emulates the 'spirograph' drawing toy.

!<STEREO     Interactive surface design package.                         L1
David Simpson's interactive stereo surface design program
is self-documenting. Try reading from files surf.1 .. surf.8
for specimen surfaces.
Type   '@STEREO' to invoke it.
The program is menu-driven. If you leave it by other than the menu 'quit'
you may have to do a 'SET ADEMO'  (or whatever) to get back to your original
directory.

The command  '@TE'  displays a gyrating tetrahedron on the screen (in
perspective view).  No interaction required.

The command 'TUNNEL' displays a set of multicoloured rectangles which grow
from a central point.   No interaction required.

This is a pretty comprehensive demonstration of the CIFVIEW VLSI design tool
and it is self-documenting.
